SUMMARY:Mixed-Culture Couple Challenges - The Systemic Constellation View
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Illi Adato – Founder & Head of London School of Systemic & Family Constellations. \nWorkshop Date: Saturday July 25th 2026\nTime: 10am-6pm\nVenue: Kailash Centre – London NW8 \nREGISTER HERE:  \nhttps://calendly.com/illiadato/mixed-culture-couple-challenges \n  \nI warmly invite you to a unique\, experiential workshop I’ll be facilitating in July\, about a subject that is very close to my heart: \n“Mixed-Culture Couple Challenges – The Systemic Constellation View” \nIn our increasingly interconnected world\, more and more couples are building relationships that bridge different cultures\, religions\, languages\, and family traditions. While this can be a source of great richness\, it can also bring hidden tensions\, misunderstandings\, and repeating conflicts that are hard to explain with logic alone. \nThis workshop offers a Systemic and Family Constellations perspective on those challenges. Together\, we will explore how our relationships are shaped not only by our personal histories\, but also by: \nUnresolved entanglements in our family systems\nTransgenerational trauma carried across generations\nInvisible loyalties to parents\, grandparents\, or important figures in our family histories\nCultural and historical events (war\, migration\, colonisation\, discrimination\, loss) that still echo in the present. \nWhat this workshop is about \nUsing the method of systemic and family constellations\, we will gently bring to light: \nHow each partner may be unconsciously loyal to their family of origin and its values\, beliefs\, and cultural norms.\nHow unprocessed grief\, shame\, exclusion\, or trauma in one or both family lineages can surface in the couple’s dynamic.\nHow cultural expectations around gender roles\, religion\, money\, sexuality\, children\, and extended family can create tension or confusion.\nHow histories of migration\, exile\, racism\, or social rupture may affect a couple’s capacity for safety\, trust\, and closeness. \nThrough guided constellation processes\, participants will have the chance to: \nSee their own relationship from a wider\, systemic perspective.\nRecognise which burdens they may be carrying on behalf of their families or cultures.\nHonour the stories and suffering of previous generations.\nGently disentangle from what does not belong to them.\nCreate more space for choice\, connection\, and mutual respect in the relationship. \n  \nWho is this for? \nThis workshop is intended for: \nCouples formed across different cultures\, countries\, ethnic groups\, races\, religions\, or languages.\nIndividuals from mixed or migrant backgrounds who wish to better understand their patterns in relationships.\nTherapists\, coaches\, and professionals who work with multicultural couples and want to deepen their systemic understanding. \n  \nYou are welcome to attend: \nAs a couple\, if both partners are open to exploring together.\nAs an individual\, if your partner cannot attend or prefers not to\, or if you are reflecting on a past or current mixed-culture relationship. \nNo previous experience with Systemic or Family Constellations is required. \n  \nWhat you can expect ? \nDuring the workshop\, we will combine: \nShort theoretical inputs on systemic and family constellation principles.\nGuided exercises to explore your own family system\, loyalties\, and cultural roots.\nConstellation sessions (in the full group or smaller groups) to explore couple dynamics\nTime for reflection\, integration\, and questions. \nThe space will be held with respect\, confidentiality\, and sensitivity to cultural and personal boundaries. You are always free to participate at the level that feels right for you; observing can be just as powerful as taking an active role in a constellation. \n  \nPossible themes we may explore \nFeeling torn between cultures\, families\, or countries. \nConflicts around religion\, tradition\, or rituals (weddings\, funerals\, celebrations\, child-rearing). \nTension between individual freedom and family/community expectations. \nLoyalty conflicts: when saying “yes” to a partner feels like saying “no” to one’s own family or culture. \nRepeating patterns of distance\, conflict\, or withdrawal in the relationship. \nThe impact of historical trauma (war\, genocide\, displacement\, political oppression) on trust and safety in the couple. \nManaging pressure or judgment from extended family on both sides. \n  \nIntention of the workshop \nOur intention is to create a respectful\, compassionate space in which: \nEach person can feel seen\, with their cultural and family background honoured.\nThe pain and love carried by previous generations can be recognised.\nOld entanglements and unconscious loyalties can begin to unwind.\nCouples can find new ways to stand side by side\, facing both families and cultures with more strength and clarity. \nFrom a systemic constellation view\, love flows more freely when everything that belongs is respectfully acknowledged and given a place. \nThis workshop aims to support that movement—so that your relationship is less burdened by the past and more open to the future you wish to create together. \nIf you feel called to explore your relationship and family roots in this way\, we would be delighted to welcome you. \n  \nREGISTER HERE:  \nhttps://calendly.com/illiadato/mixed-culture-couple-challenges \n  \nFor more information\, please contact: \noffice@londonconstellations.uk \nDate: Saturday July 25th 2026\nTime: 10am-6pm\nVenue: Kailash Centre – London NW8\nWorkshop language: English \n  \nWith warmth and respect\, \nIlli Adato
